ARTWORK AT RESTORE

Each quarter, Restore Physical Therapy displays artwork created by a local female artist. This allows amazing artwork to be showcased, and beautifies the clinic space. During the quarter, the artist can choose to have a reception, inviting friends, family, art supporters, and Restore clients to hear about their artwork, and enjoy community.

July 2023-September 2023: Julie Risien

About Julie’s Work:

Emergent Flow Art is fluid art, generally acrylics on canvas, guided by the concept of becoming, that all things are in a constant state of metamorphosis, continuously becoming something never experienced in the past and impossible to replicate in the future. In fluid art the artist establishes conditions to support becoming. She guides the medium toward an intended aesthetic but does not ultimately control the process and outcome. The result is a reflection of intention and stewardship of the environment, materials, and mediums as they alchemize to preserve an image that represents a moment in time. Sometimes beauty quickly surfaces with little support; other times works emerge after iterative struggle with heat, moisture, gravity, density, pigment and composition. Emergent Flow starts with color and concept inspirations from nature. Then mediums are mixed and experiments with reactive processes and flow ensue creating initial small pieces. Scaling up comes with an unbounded commitment to enabling the mysteries of the moment to emerge.
